Abstract

En l’actualitat, les mascotes desenvolupen un paper cada cop més rellevant en la vida diària de la nostra societat, esdevenint indispensables en moltes unitats familiars. Problemes derivats de la falta de temps per a satisfer les seves necessitats comporten molts problemes domèstics, i en alguns casos promouen l’abandonament de l’animal. Aquest projecte té el propòsit de facilitar la vida de les famílies que tenen més d’una mascota i presenten dificultats per a dedicar tot el temps requerit per a procurar una alimentació òptima i adaptada a cada animal. L’objectiu principal del projecte és aprofitar la tecnologia de radiofreqüència per a dissenyar un dispensador d’aliment selectiu, de forma remota, per a tenir un control d’accés a l’aliment. Per a aconseguir el correcte desenvolupament del projecte, es divideix en tres parts ben diferenciades. Primer es realitza un estudi de la funcionalitat de la radiofreqüència per a aplicar aquesta tecnologia a un sistema de dosificació de pinso. La segona part consta del disseny mecatrònic d’un dispositiu dispensador d’aliment. Per últim, s’implementa l’electrònica del sistema amb la finalitat de programmar i testar la funcionalitat del projecte, així com establir-ne una connectivitat remota per a operar el dispositiu a distància. Com a resultat del projecte, s’ha dissenyat un dispositiu capaç de proporcionar aliment a una parella de mascotes amb necessitats alimentàries específiques, evitant en tot moment que una mascota accedeixi a l’aliment de l’altre i al revés. Amb aquest control d’accés remot es podrà garantir la correcta alimentació de mascotes de diverses espècies i edats, així com les necessitats derivades de problemes de salut. Dur a terme aquest projecte ha complementat la meva formació al llarg de tota la carrera, doncs es tracta d’un projecte multidisciplinar amb aspectes que involucren recerca, mecànica, electrònica i programació. El projecte, tot i els problemes trobats durant el seu desenvolupament, obre les portes a la creació d’un dispositiu innovador que comporti un valor afegit en l’àmbit de la cobertura de les necessitats de les nostres mascotes.

Today, pets are playing an increasingly important role in the daily life of our society, becoming indispensable in many family units. Problems arising from the lack of time to meet their needs lead to many domestic problems, and some cases promote the abandonment of the animal. This project aims to make life easier for families that have more than one pet and have difficulty devoting all the time required to provide optimal food adapted to each animal. The main goal of the project is to take advantage of radio frequency technology to design a selective food dispenser, remotely, to have access to food. In order to achieve the correct development of the project, it is necessary to divide it into three well-differentiated parts. First, a study of the functionality of the radio frequency is carried out to apply this technology to a feed dosing system. The second part consists of the mechatronic design of a food dispensing device. Finally, the electronics of the system are implemented in order to program and test the functionality of the project, as well as to establish a remote connectivity to operate the device remotely. The resulting device is able to dose food to a pair of pets with specific food needs, preventing one pet from accessing the other’s food at all times and upside down. This remote access control will ensure the proper feeding of pets of various species and ages, as well as the needs arising from health problems. Carrying out this project has complemented my training throughout my career, as it is a multidisciplinary project with aspects involving research, mechanics, electronics and programming. The project, despite the problems encountered during its development, opens the door to the creation of an innovative device that brings added value in the field of covering the needs of our pets.
