Abstract

Las quemaduras son un problema más común de lo que podríamos pensar. Las quemaduras pueden tener graves consecuencias, tanto psicológicas como físicas. Las cicatrices de quemaduras pueden conducir a limitaciones articulares, reduciendo la calidad de vida del paciente. La fisioterapia está muy presente en nuestra sociedad, y también en el tratamiento de pacientes quemados. Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este estudio es mostrar que el tratamiento de fisioterapia convencional es efectivo en la rehabilitación de un paciente quemado para aumentar su rango de movimiento. La investigación para este estudio se llevó a cabo desde junio de 2019 hasta enero de 2020 gracias a Pubmed, Google Scholar, la biblioteca UVic, Web of Science, Science Direct y otras páginas de investigación derivadas de los artículos encontrados, y usando las palabras « burn injury », « burn care » o « burn treatment » o « burn rehabilitation », y « burn wound healing », « burn scar » ; « burn scar contraction » o « burn scar contractures ». Los resultados de esta investigación nos llevaron a 18 artículos científicos sobre los diversos tratamientos de fisioterapia en la rehabilitación del paciente quemado. Entre estos tratamientos, surgieron 6 que incluyen posicionamiento, ejercicio físico terapéutico, férulas, terapia de presión, silicona y masaje. El análisis de los artículos nos mostró que los tratamientos como el masaje y el posicionamiento no tienen evidencia científica y se basan en recomendaciones de expertos. El ejercicio físico, la terapia de presión, las férulas y la silicona han demostrado ser efectivas para pacientes con quemaduras y mejorar su calidad de vida. Por lo tanto, el tratamiento de fisioterapia del paciente quemado está anclado en la literatura científica. Sin embargo, se necesita investigación adicional para validar todos los tratamientos ofrecidos.

Burns are a more common problem than we might think. Burns can lead to serious consequences, both psychological and physical. Burn scars often lead to joint limitations, reducing the patient's quality of life. Physiotherapy is very present in our society today, and also in the treatment of burned patients. The objective of this study is therefore to show that conventional physiotherapy treatment is effective in the rehabilitation of a burned-out patient to increase his range of motion. The research for this study was carried out from June 2019 to January 2020 thanks to the Pubmed, Google Scholar, UVic library, Web of Science, Science Direct and other research pages derived from the articles encountered, and using the words « burn injury », « burn care » or « burn treatment » or « burn rehabilitation », and « burn wound healing », « burn scar » ; « burn scar contraction » or « burn scar contractures ». The results of this research led us to 18 scientific articles on the various physiotherapy treatments for the rehabilitation of the burned patient. Among these treatments, 6 emerged, including positioning, therapeutic physical exercise, splints, pressure therapy, silicone and massage. Analysis of the articles showed us that treatments such as massage and positioning have no scientific evidence and are based on expert recommendations. Exercise, pressure therapy, splints and silicone have proven to be effective for burn patients improving their quality of life. Thus, the physiotherapy treatment of the burned patient is anchored in the scientific literature. However, additional researches are needed to validate all of the treatments offered.
