Abstract

Context: The practice of trail running has increased and it yielded to a rise in the number of sport injuries. Given the evidence that ankle sprains constitute between 25% and 50% of sports injuries, which will have a high number of sequelae, it is established between 10% and 30% of severely injured who may have chronic symptoms. Objectives: The motivations of this systematic review are to review which are the most effective methods for ankle injuries in trail runners and to make a proposal of a preventive training programme focused on the evidence sought. Source: PubMed Study design: Systematic review Results: Balances and strength have been the concepts more used. SEBT, CAIT and VAS have been the most practiced measurement instruments that show these are the most relevant to assess prevention programs. Training frequency in which most articles coincide is 3 days a week and the session duration between 24 and 25 minutes.
