Salut mental i comunitat.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to determine the variation in the emotional well-being of participants, people suffering from bipolar disorder, by participating in the activities of the time bank. The study starts from needs of people linked to ABIGirona association (association of people affected by bipolar disorder in the province of Girona) They are 15 people of whom will identify capabilities, preferences, limitations and perception of well-being related to social participation and leisure, in order to meet their development after the relationship with Time Bank. Based on the proven benefits of participation in relational, and taking into account deprivation that people suffering from a mental disorder can present in this area, a proposal that links supply and demand is made, so that the results can become advantageous for all parties. The found literature indicates that, until today, it has not been described the potential of a specific program that relates Time Bank and people suffering from bipolar disorder. Therefore, it was an innovative project with anticipation of positive results that will serve as a basis for further cooperation between social organizations of the same city, always with the aim of promoting normalization and social inclusion of the most disadvantaged groups. The study has been raised from a qualitative design, focused on understanding people, context and relationships between them, using the phenomenological method to find out the interpretation that people give to their own experience. The possible losses that may arise for reasons related to the disease itself have been mitigated by designing measures aimed to minimize these limitations as much as possible.
