Educació en valors: dones, igualtat i diferència

Educació en valors: dones, igualtat i diferència

Abstract

The article analizes, within the framework of globalized politics and of the present laws in Spain, the women’s situation and the problems that affect them, such as violence or social deprivation, and also the need of social and educational answers that revise the current practices to incorporate a respectful education on values into women’s human rights. It is stated, within the sphere of education, that politics that have been encouraged during the last years do not guarantee equal opportunities because educational reforms have been carried out in accordance with market criteria. Neoliberal approaches that characterize capitalist economies fall within discourses of the present laws, and from these perspectives no progress in the fight against exclusion and discrimination can be guaranteed. It is in this context that it is necessary to (re)considerate the education so as to incorporate ethical dimension, the value principles that allow the encounter of differences, dialogue between women and men into contexts of moral democracy.
