Abstract

Mitt overordnet tema er hvordan megatrender påvirker endringer i bedrifters tilnærming til kompetanseutvikling. For å belyse denne tematikken, har jeg valgt å beskrive et globalt konserns endring i dets tilnærming til kompetanseutvikling. En ny tilnærming vil vanligvis innebære bruk av ny teknologi og andre læringsmetoder for deres ansatte. I sammenheng med dette framhever jeg i min studie to andre endringsprosesser som er tilknyttet dette skiftet. Den ene omhandler læringsteknologien som anvendes innad i Yara. Den andre er koblet til hvilket tankesett som det tilrettelegges for i konsernet. Analyse av en slik tematikk forutsetter et teoretisk rammeverk som vektlegger de påvirkende komponentene i organisasjonen. På bakgrunn av dette har jeg benyttet meg av tredje generasjons aktivitetsteori, siden det er et perspektiv som fremmer betydningen av kontekstuelle faktorer slik som historie, samspill mellom ulike komponenter og subjektive forståelser av endringer og aktiviteter.
