Abstract

I forbindelse med realiseringen av reguleringsplanen for området, ble der i perioden fra d. 7. juli til den 15. juli 2011, gjennomført en arkeologisk undersøkelse av de registrerte kulturminner i planområdet. Under Hedmark fylkeskommunes registrering i 2008 ble der påvist kulturminner i form av kullgroper, muligens fangstgroper på lokaliteten. Den arkeologiske undersøkelse omfattede 10 av de 15 påviste strukturer, der alle kunne dateres til middelalderen. Profilsnitt av de enkelte strukturer viste at der på enkelte groper var foretatt produksjon av trekull til jernvinne over lengere tid. Øvrige strukturer viste kun kort bruksfase. Vedartsanalysen av de innsamlede prøver viste, at der utelukkende ble anvendt gran i produksjonen i gropene. Prosjektleder: Jostein Bergstøl
