Abstract

Stereokjemisk kontroll er svært viktig i organisk kjemi. Med spiraner som utgangspunkt er det forsøkt å syntetisere rigide ligander til asymmetrisk hydrogenering. Bakgrunnen for oppgaven er beskrevet i kapittel 1. I kapittel 2 er det beskrevet dannelse av karbaldehyder med utgansgspunkt i β-ketoesteren 34. Ved en hydroacyleringsreaksjon er disse aldehydene syklisert ved hjelp av énverdig rhodium. Kapittel 3 tar for seg mekanismer ved denne ringslutningen, og viser dannelsen av 6,6-etylendioksy-1-oksospiro[4,5]dekan (56) og 1,6-dioksospiro[4,5]dekan (58). Kapittel 4 tar for seg triflering av de ulike spiranonene. Triflatene er utgangspunkt for koblingsreakjsonene beskrevet i kapittel 5. Elektronrike substituenter er innført i α-posisjon til spirosenteret og mono- og disubstituerte spiraner er dannet i gode utbytter. Reduksjon av de umettede spiranene er beskrevet i kapittel 6. Det var ønskelig å danne cis,cis-isomeren av de ulike disubstituerte spiranene. Ved hjelp av røntgendiffraksjon er det påvist et cis,cis-forhold mellom substituentene i 1,6-di-(2-metoksyfenyl)spiro[4,5]dekan (93). Konklusjonen for oppgaven er skrevet i kapittel 7, mens alle eksperimentelle data er samlet i kapittel 8.
