La validez del instrumento de medida

Abstract

Este documento ofrece una visión técnico-práctica sobre la validez de los instrumentos de medida en las ciencias sociales, económicas y empresariales. Su objetivo principal es analizar cómo asegurar que las escalas de medición representen fielmente fenómenos no observables directamente. El texto clasifica la validez en tres categorías fundamentales asociadas a la medición de constructos: - Validez de contenido: Evalúa de forma cualitativa si los ítems son representativos y relevantes para el concepto que se pretende medir. - Validez de constructo: Determina si las medidas reflejan el concepto teórico, integrando formas como la validez convergente (correlación con medidas afines), discriminante (diferenciación de otros conceptos) y nomológica (comportamiento según la teoría). - Validez de criterio: Compara el instrumento con un criterio externo para determinar su capacidad predictiva o concurrente. Además, se aborda la validez experimental (interna y externa) centrada en el diseño de la investigación y analiza factores críticos como la fiabilidad, la longitud del test y la variabilidad de la muestra. Finalmente, se proponen protocolos prácticos y fórmulas de corrección para mitigar errores de medida y mejorar la calidad científica de los resultados.
