The scarce availability of water and salinity are among the most stressful and important factors that limit the growth and yield of horticultural plants, which is why it is necessary to research and look for new crops that adapt to these conditions and, in turn, offer an opportunity for producers and consumers. In addition, the need to feed a growing population has led to domestication, that is, when a wild plant is used and exploited by humans, and over time it is intentionally cultivated. Wild plants, better known as weeds, are food that is trampled or simply ignored. Sisymbrium irio L., also known as matacandil, is a wild plant very similar in taste to other cruciferous plants and is consumed similarly to them. There are testimonies of its consumption and cultivation since classical antiquity. For all these reasons, a better cultural and fertigation management was sought to increase productivity and interest in Sisymbrium irio L., in addition to its use as a quality raw material in gastronomy. This was carried out by evaluating the absorption of fertigation, nutrients such as nitrates and potassium and their production as a function of different electrical conductivities, obtaining its optimum production value around 3 dS m-1 .
