Abstract

The development of executive functions is crucial for the academic and personal success of school-aged children. These cognitive skills allow children to organize and regulate their behavior, enabling them to achieve goals and cope with different situations. The present undergraduate thesis focuses on the analysis of programs designed to improve these cognitive skills in children and adolescents. The study centers on executive functions, their context, and intervention in the cognitive development of children and adolescents. The introduction or theoretical framework provides information on executive functions, how they develop, and how they affect individuals. The aim of the study is to analyze programs aimed at addressing and improving executive functions in children, with special interest in highlighting the effects in early childhood education. To carry out the research, a methodology was used consisting of searching for intervention programs in different databases using a specific search formula. The results indicate that there are several interventions aimed at improving executive functions in boys and girls, and that many of these interventions are effective. The findings are valuable for education professionals, parents, and researchers seeking to improve the cognitive development and academic performance of children. By analyzing intervention programs, strategies that have been shown to be effective can be identified and adapted to the individual needs of children. In conclusion, the study provides valuable information on interventions aimed at improving executive functions in education. By analyzing programs designed to improve these skills, cognitive development and academic performance can be improved.
