ABSTRACT Absenteeism is one of the biggest current problems that schools have to deal with, especially in the last stages of schooling, it leads to school failure and early dropout, leaving many people with inadequate training, both professional and educational. personally. In the present work, a detailed investigation is carried out on absenteeism, the types of absenteeism, the causes and consequences of this phenomenon, supported by authors. As actions, surveys have been carried out on an association dedicated to absenteeism, Asociación Almería Acoge, which is very close to unstructured families or with a low socio-cultural and educational level, and a survey has also been carried out with the counselor of the IES Al-Ándalus center , where I did my internship and that motivated me to do this Master's Thesis. In the same way, some improvement proposals have been made with the intention of helping to alleviate absenteeism, including the participation of families, who are a fundamental pillar in this problem, but without forgetting the students themselves and the teachers who we are the ones who will be in direct contact with them every day. Finally, some results obtained and foreseeable about our actions are shown and we dedicate ourselves to reflecting on the work carried out during this time, drawing our own conclusions.
