Abstract

La autoestima, las emociones y la mente, no son un objeto de estudio tan antiguo como lo es la cirugía plástica, sin embargo, con los avances en los estudios de teorías sobre el alma, el ser, el pensar, se fue dando así mismo una rama medicinal sobre la salud mental. De la misma forma se fue desarrollando el interrogante, de si la cirugía plástica estética actúa en detrimento o en una construcción positiva de varias patologías relacionadas con la salud mental. Podríamos calificar la cirugía plástica/estética específicamente, como iatrogenia médica, ya que, a pesar de ser avalada, de ser legal y de ser una rama de la práctica y ejecución de la medicina, es causante de daños colaterales, que van directamente en contra de una psicología sana del paciente
