Imaginarios sociales de los padres de familia sobre educación inicial

Abstract

​El estudio desarrollado fue de corte cualitativo mediante el empleo de un diseño fenomenográfico, para describir los imaginarios sociales en Educación Inicial de acuerdo con la percepción y experiencia de los padres de familia en la atención de sus hijos en los jardines infantiles y el colegio participante. Para ello se realizaron 26 grupos focales en 23 instituciones educativas, con una muestra de 151 padres de familia. El instrumento aplicado fue una entrevista semi estructurada diseñada por el equipo investigador, la cual fue revisada por pares expertos y validada por medio de un pilotaje. Los hallazgos de esta investigación revelan que entre los padres de familia sobresale un imaginario social orientado a la Educación Inicial como preparación para la Básica Primaria. Lo anterior coincide con las expectativas de los padres de familia frente a los procesos académicos que deben ofrecerse en la Educación Inicial, donde prevalece el aprendizaje de la lectura y la escritura.
