Descomposición de la brecha salarial en España

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar la brecha salarial de género por hora trabajada. Para ello, se ha analizado tanto la brecha observada como la ajustada. Además, se ha realizado la descomposición de Oaxaca- Blinder, para entender las diferencias salariales debidas a características o a retribuciones. Gracias a los microdatos de la Encuesta de Estructura Salarial del Instituto Nacional de Estadística, tras hacer una regresión mediante el método de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios, se han obtienen las variables que más afectan a la brecha salarial y se ha cuantificado su efecto en la muestra. En concreto, se han tenido en cuenta tanto variables relacionadas con la persona trabajadora (edad, nivel de educación, nacionalidad…), como variables relacionadas con las características de la empresa (tamaño de empresa, propiedad o control, tipo de mercado…). Entre los resultados, destaca que la brecha salarial ajustada aumenta en base a la edad y se reduce con niveles elevados de educación, mientras que el tamaño de empresa no parece ser relevante para explicar las diferencias salariales entre hombres y mujeres. Este tipo de análisis resultan de utilidad para ayudar a proponer medidas que se podrían llevar a cabo desde el sector público y las empresas, para reducir la desigualdad salarial que perjudica a las mujeres. Entre ellas se encuentran mejorar la conciliación entre la vida familiar y laboral, así como facilitar el acceso a la educación.
