[ES] La trascendencia que el principio representativo comporta en el funcionamiento de las democracias occidentales hace necesario ahondar en cuestiones tales como el sistema de partidos, el funcionamiento del sistema electoral actual y las formas de participación directa con el objeto de dilucidar si el sistema representativo español cumple efectivamente la función de dotar al pueblo de una influencia material en las decisiones de la res publica o si, por el contrario, el continente de la soberanía nacional queda apartado en el ámbito de dichas decisiones en pos de intereses partidistas.

[EN] The importance of the representative principle in the functioning of Western democracies makes it necessary to focus on issues such as the party system, the functioning of the current electoral system and the forms of direct participation with the aim of elucidating whether the Spanish representative system effectively fulfills the function of give the people a material influence in the decisions of the public matter or if, on the contrary, the continent of national sovereignty is left aside in the scope of those decisions in pursuit of partisan interests.
