Monstruas. Deconstruyendo el monstruo femenino actual en el audiovisual del terror.

Abstract

Esta tesis deconstruye al monstruo femenino actual en el audiovisual de terror a raíz de la proliferación del mismo desde el año 2000. Para ello, se analizan cinco películas: Ginger Snaps (John Fawcett, 2000), Raw (Julia Ducournau, 2016), A girl walks home alone at night (Ana Lily Amirpour, 2014), The Babadook ( Jennifer Kent, 2014) teniendo en cuenta los siguientes objetivos: diseccionar la relación entre cuerpo, feminidad y poder que encarnan; comprobar si siguen definidas por su sexualidad ,y si esto ha cambiado, qué otras formas de monstruosidad femenina hay más allá del monstruoso-femenino promulgado por Bárbara Creed. Asimismo, observar si las monstruas hacen referencia o encarnan, de forma aberrante, las experiencias corporales femeninas, y si la estrategia formal y narrativa de la película busca la reacción corporal de los/as espectadores/as. La presente tesis tiene en cuenta también el cambio acaecido en el género de terror, siendo cada vez más evidente, su idoneidad para tratar temas femeninos dirigidos a la audiencia femenina, que entiende a la monstrua contemporánea como un cuerpo cultural subversivo. Este análisis solo es posible teniendo en cuenta antecedentes cinematográficos previos que ayudan a contextualizar las actuales novedades, aunque no se trata de una investigación de corte historicista, ordenadas en tres tipos de monstruas: Mujer-animal; Zombies y Vampiras; y Brujas y Madres monstruosas
