[EN] This contribuition explores the limits of labels such as “version” or “translation” in relation to Robert Bolt’s "A Man for All Seasons" translated into Spanish as “La Cabeza de un Traidor” or “Un Hombre para la Eternidad”. An acting edition published by Escelicer in 1963 identifies Luis Escobar and Santiago Martinez Caro as authors of the stage-oriented version, and a reading edition published by Ediciones Iberoamericanas in 1967, identifies Luis Escobar as “translator”. These Spanish texts are presented as different, but textual comparison of both Spanish texts with the original(s) shows that the same translation has been used for different purposes.
