Cuantificación de la carga de entrenamiento en natación: del análisis retrospectivo al diseño prospectivo

Abstract

La relación entre el diseño del entrenamiento y las posibles adaptaciones de los deportistas a dicho entrenamiento es una de las exigencias y quebraderos de cabeza más importantes para un entrenador. La adecuación de la carga de entrenamiento y su distribución de cara a la consecución de la puesta en forma de los deportistas no puede basarse exclusivamente en la experiencia de los entrenadores y debe tratar de sistematizarse de manera adecuada. La posibilidad de disponer de un sistema de cuantificación de la carga que pueda no sólo proporcionar información de manera retrospectiva sino, también, de manera prospectiva supone una valiosísima herramienta para el establecimiento del modelo impulso-respuesta. Teniendo en cuenta que la aplicación de estímulos de entrenamiento provoca en los deportistas una doble respuesta (negativa y a corto plazo provocada por la fatiga, y positiva y a más largo plazo provocando una mejora de sus capacidades) se propone utilizar un modelo de cuantificación de la carga que valore, por separado, los efectos negativos de fatiga y positivos de adaptación y, combinados, para estimar el estado de forma de los deportistas.
