Evolución y explotación de los recursos vegetales desde el Tardiglaciar en la vertiente mediterránea del País Vasco: datos antracológicos.

Abstract

Los estudios arqueobotánicos son en la actualidad una parte esencial de los proyectos de investigación encaminados a evaluar los modos de vida de nuestros antepasados. El análisis de los restos de maderas carbonizadas documentadas en los yacimientos arqueológicos supone una certera aproximación en este sentido. Esta Tesis analiza en profundidad la evolución y explotación de los recursos forestales, desde el Tardiglaciar hasta la Edad del Hierro, en la Vertiente Mediterránea del País Vasco, concretamente en el Territorio Histórico de Álava. Para ello, se han estudiado los macrorestos vegetales de un total de 16 yacimientos arqueológicos. A través de ellos se han abordado diferentes problemáticas relacionados con la gestión de los recursos vegetales en el Pirineo Occidental, realizándose comparaciones entre los resultados obtenidos en estudios tanto de macrorestos como de microrrestos vegetales. Además se han abordado los casos particulares de dos especies concretas, como son el tejo (Taxus baccata) y el haya (Fagus sylvatica), taxones que muestran unas dinámicas especialmente interesantes en el territorio estudiado a lo largo del Holoceno.
