Abstract

Significato. La gastroenterite è una malattia comune nei bambini. Alcuni ricoveri sono inevitabili, tuttavia, nella maggior parte dei casi, una tempestiva ed effica- ce cura a livello territoriale sembra ridurre il rischio di ospedalizzazione (1, 2). Come per l’asma, anche per le gastroenteriti il tasso di ospedalizzazione può indicare la qualità dei servizi ter-ritoriali in termini di accessibilità e di cura appropria- ta, presupponendo che, al migliorare di queste, dimi- nuisca il ricorso al ricovero in ospedale (1, 3, 4, 5). Recentemente l’indicatore è stato proposto nel Piano Nazionale Esiti con la granularità delle Aziende terri- toriali italiane.
