Cittadinanza

Authors: Zanfrini, Laura;
Abstract

Within the context of the Dictionary for the pastoral and social care of migrants this voice deals with the concept of citizenship, illustrating how the rise of the number of international migrants has obliged national States to rethink to these “nationalistic” institutions. The main solutions proposed by the contemporary literature are then described: besides the reform of the criteria for obtaining the citizenship of the destination country, new “types” of citizenship have been introduced, such as the denizenship, the sovra-national citizenship, the transnational citizenship, the post-national citizenship and the multicultural citizenship.
