Il saggio intende mostrare la necessità di pensare la scuola come realtà sociale attraverso tre declinazioni. Innanzitutto come un’istituzione caratterizzata da una propria dinamica sociale interna; in secondo luogo come un ambiente formativo teso a promuovere anche competenze sociali, in terzo luogo come un realtà educativa la cui mission chiede sempre di più uno stretto collegamento con le altre agenzie educative del territorio.
