Abstract

Il saggio indaga il coccoliate, la lingua mista parlata dagli emigranti di prima generazione in Argentina e Uruguay fra Otto e Novecento. Tale lingua, frutto del contatto fra i tanti dialetti italiani e lo spagnolo d'Argentina, ha dato origine ad uno dei personaggi più famosi del teatro comico argentino (Cocoliche) ed è anche la lingua usata da autori oriundi contemporanei.
