Abstract

El colectivo de hombres que ejerce el trabajo sexual ha sido ampliamente ignorado tanto a nivel social como en la literatura científica. Los escasos estudios realizados se han centrado en aspectos muy concretos, principalmente en la relación de la infección por VIH y el uso del preservativo en las relaciones comerciales entre aquellos hombres que ejercen el trabajo sexual en la calle. Con este estudio se pretende conocer las circunstancias asociadas a la realidad psicosocial de los trabajadores masculinos del sexo que ejercen su actividad en pisos gestionados por terceras personas. Para ello se han explorado, por medio de la "Entrevista Semiestructurada para Trabajadores Masculinos del Sexo" (Ballester, Gil, Salmerón y Albiach, 2009) aspectos tan diversos como características sociodemográficas, aspectos de la historia sexual, aspectos sobre el trabajo sexual (motivaciones para ejercer el trabajo sexual, prácticas sexuales con los clientes, características de las personas usuarias, etc.), cuestiones relativas al estado y conductas de salud, consumo de sustancias, aspectos relacionados con la prevención e infección por VIH (uso de preservativo con los clientes y las parejas no comerciales, información vías de transmisión, temor percibido, prueba de anticuerpos, etc), satisfacción personal profesional y general y variables disposicionales (compulsividad sexual y búsqueda de sensaciones sexuales).
