Abstract

Els objectius principals dels treballs que aquí es descriuran queden emmarcats dins de dues grans problemàtiques. Primerament, l'estudi estructural i funcional de l'enzim dins del gènere Drosophila, en un intent de determinació de l'esquema evolutiu dins del taxó, i les influències que sobre aquest esquema hagin pogut exercir diversos paràmetres ecològics. En segon lloc, un intent de clarificació de les reaccions de resposta de Drosophila sota unes condicions de "stress" d'alcohol, i el paper que l'ADH hi juga. Per diverses raons que s'esmentaran en el seu moment, l'espècie amb la qual s'han realitzat els estudis és “Drosophila hydei”, representant cosmopolita del grup Repleta. Els punts concrets d'aquest treball poden resumir-se en: (a) Visió general de les propietats de l'enzim ADH nadiu a diferents espècies de Drosophila. (b) Estudi estructural de l'enzim ADH de D. hydei. Comparació amb les dades de les espècies que ja havien estat estudiades en el Departament. (c) Estudi comparatiu dels mètodes més actuals d'aïllament i purificació de pèptids triptics. (d) Estudi del metabolisme dels alcohols i els seus productes d'oxidació en individus sotmesos a dietes riques en etanol i isopropanol. (e) Estudi dels enzims que intervenen en les reaccions enzimàtiques del catabolisme alcohòlic.
