
El Psilocybe cubensis es un hongo de gran importancia a nivel industrial, gracias a la presencia de una sustancia llamada Psilocibina en su cuerpo fructífero. Dicho alcaloide, derivado de la triptamina, es muy similar al neurotransmisor serotonina, el cual es responsable de la percepción sensorial, la regulación de la temperatura, el inicio del reposo nocturno, del hígado y los riñones. Por tal motivo, este estudio se enfocó en la producción de la Psilocibina mediante el cultivo del P. cubensis en medio sumergido (Fang-Zhong).
