Abstract

La secta de los estranguladores es una radionovela policial y de aventuras, en 65 episodios de cuarto de hora, original de Alberto Upegui Benítez. Así encabeza su obra el autor. He aquí un breve recuento de la pieza literaria publicada en este libro. El sabio detective Alí Ben y su ayudante Cantalapiedra son invitados a la ciudad de México para colaborar en una investigación criminal. Una caja que contiene una bomba les llega al hotel como regalo. Al estallar sin efectos graves resulta ser una advertencia para que se alejen del caso. El director del Museo de Arte es la persona que necesita al detective pues su amigo, el millonario Mario Ezcurdia, tiene un grave problema como resultado de poseer una escultura hindú, Shiva, tallada en jade y obtenida en un viaje al Asia. Esa adquisición desata la sanción con la muerte a los presuntos profanadores del templo que está bajo la protección de la Secta de los estranguladores.
