Abstract

This article finds empirical evidence about how the public investments in Medellin city affect in a positive way the life quality of the inhabitants. To obtain this result, a Panel Data estimation was done, following the Arellano-Bond methodology, an analysis is made of the effects of the public investment made by the different ministries of the Mayor's Office of Medellín between 2011 and 2018 in the Multidimensional Quality of Life Index. The econometric exercise shows that an increase in total investment of 10% would be equivalent to an average increase in the variation of the Multidimensional Quality of Life Index of 0.35%. The demographic components of the territories are relevant for the efficiency of public investment.
