Abstract

Respira...profundo. Siente el oxígeno entrando a tu cuerpo. Sin la capacidad de respirar oxígeno, organismos multicelulares como tu o como yo no tendríamos suficiente energía para subsistir. Y sin mitocondrias, nuestras células no tendrían donde aprovechar el oxígeno. La mitocondria, aquella organela dentro de (casi) todas nuestras células que se encarga de proporcionarles energía surgieron de la asociación entre una célula proto-eucariota y una bacteria, hace aproximadamente 2000 millones de años
