Abstract

La caracterización dinámica de los materiales utilizados en la construcción de carreteras es un reto indispensable para las regiones del país, pues de ello depende la certidumbre del dimensionamiento de la estructura de los pavimentos. El módulo dinámico y la relación de Poisson de las mezclas asfálticas, se constituyen en un parámetro importante dentro del diseño por métodos empírico-mecanistas, pueshacen parte del algoritmo que ayuda a definir el espesor de cada capa.El comportamiento dinámico de las mezclas asfálticas está definidopor la variación de la temperatura y frecuencia de aplicación de carga, incluso por las propiedades del asfalto y el agregado utilizado en la fabricación de las mismas. Para determinar las propiedades dinámicas se elaboraron probetas cilíndricas con materiales procedentes de la explotación de depósitos aluviales y de roca, y asfaltos de características similares, con los cuales se fabrican las mezclas asfálticas en El Valle de Aburrá. Las muestras fueron compactadas estáticamente hasta lograr el peso unitario determinado en el método de diseño “Marshall”. Las probetas se ensayaron en condiciones de temperatura controlada entre 5 ºC y 60 ºC y frecuencias entre 1 Hz y 16 Hz.
