Abstract

Este trabajo busca hacer un diagnóstico de las ventajas, riesgos y perspectivas de la relación entre Fondos de Capital de Riesgo (en adelante FCR) que operan en la ciudad de Medellín y las Pymes en etapa temprana en las que invierten estos fondos -- Se realizó un trabajo de tipo exploratorio y descriptivo con información recolectada mediante entrevistas en profundidad a tres FCR y a seis Pymes en que han invertido -- En la investigación se encontró cuáles han sido las áreas que han tenido más desarrollo en las compañías desde la inversión de los fondos, se analizó la importancia de estos como socios estratégicos en el desarrollo y formalización de las Pymes, y se examinaron los aprendizajes de los primeros FCR en la ciudad y las compañías en que han invertido, de cara a la generación de nuevos fondos que sigan cerrando la brecha en las necesidades de financiación de las Pymes

This paper seeks to make a diagnostic of the advantages, risks and perspectives of the relationship between Venture Capital Funds (hereinafter FCR) that operate in the city of Medellín and the early stage Pymes invested by these Funds -- An exploratory and descriptive type of work was carried out with information collected through in-depth interviews with three FCRs and six Pymes invested by these Funds -- As a result of this research, it was found the areas that have had the most development in the companies since the investment of the Funds, it was analyzed the importance of these FCR as strategic partners in the development and formalization of Pymes, and the apprenticeships of the first FCR in the city and their invested companies, with a view to generating new Funds that continue closing the gap in the financing needs of Pymes
