A flora do distrito de Aveiro: Paeoniaceae a Linaceae

Abstract

ABSTRACT: This study had as main objective to contribute to the knowledge of the floristic diversity of the Aveiro District, based on data from the University of Aveiro´s Herbarium and literature review. This floristic catalogue does not include all specimens that are deposited in the herbarium, but a significant percentage of them. The catalogue includes 178 taxa, distributed over 18 families and 86 genera, placed in the family Paeoniaceae to Linaceae, according to Nova Flora de Portugal (FRANCO, 1971). A phytogeographic analysis was performed, considering the taxonomic, biological and corologic spectra and including a phenological analysis. This was conducted taking in consideration, also, the abiotic factors such as geology, hydrography and bioclimatology, factors that influence floristic diversity of the region. The conservation status of plant species occurring in the district was verified and discussed.
