Abstract

The phenomenon of globalization has caused many companies to engage operation in various markets. The ever growing competitiveness in markets has transformed information management into a critical success factor. Taking this reality into consideration, many companies have adopted Integrated Management Software/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) with the objective of maximizing information processing as well as conceiving efficient information analysis tools for decision-making. Concurrently, the integration of information systems has become a differentiating factor which permits for rapid and efficient responses to market requirements. In Cape Verde, ERP Primavera is highly utilized, however, new alternatives have recently surged, some of which are based on Open Source solutions, among which OpenERP stands out. Some companies already use these two solutions simultaneously with the aim of reconciling the main functionalities of each one. This project is integrated under this scope, having as its main objective the development of a solution that is able to integrate OpenERP and ERP Primavera so as to take advantage of each of their strong points and thus allowing for the integration and automation of business procedures.
