O canto coral como instrumento de aprendizagem vitalícia: o projecto "Aprender até Morrer" do coral Didáxis

Abstract

Este presente trabalho de investigação consiste na avaliação da perceção do desenvolvimento de competências musicais, pessoais, sociais e culturais, dos coralistas participantes no Projeto educativo “Aprender até Morrer”. O desenvolvimento deste projeto contou com a participação de um grupo coral plurietário e pretende estimular e renovar o gosto pela aprendizagem da música e do canto a aquisição de novas competências através do lazer e da educação expressiva, tendo também uma forte componente comunitária. A fundamentação teórica do estudo teve como bases a educação expressiva e o ensino cooperativista, defendidos por Piaget, Malcom Knoles e Paulo Freire. Para construir o projeto educativo foram estudados os vários artigos científicos dos quais se destaca o trabalho de Maria José Chevitarese, o de Katia Klar Renner e Ester Beyer. A metodologia de investigação aplicada foi do tipo quasi-experimental e a amostra de investigação foi constituída por 20 elementos (n=20). Foram implementados dois questionários (Caracterização da amostra e pós teste) aos participantes, no início e no final do projeto e uma entrevista a uma observadora externa. Os dados recolhidos foram tratados através da análise de conteúdo e posteriormente foram cruzados. A interpretação de resultados permitiu verificar que os objetivos de investigação foram alcançados, ou seja, os coralistas afirmam ter adquirido competências de ordem musical, pessoal, social e cultural, designadamente melhoria no desempenho vocal, melhor atitude performativa, aumento da auto-estima, redução do stress e ansiedade, renovação dos gostos musicais e 4 valorização da música e do canto como terapia. As conclusões do estudo permitiram constatar que o projeto “Aprender até Morrer” pode ser um instrumento pedagógico para regentes corais que pretendam centrar a sua prática educativa no desenvolvimento destas competências através do canto coral. A realização deste projeto conta com o apoio da comunidade escolar e social onde se encontra inserido.

The current research work consists in the evaluation of the perception of development of musical, personal, social and cultural skills of the coral singers that participate in the educational project “Aprender até Morrer”. The development of this project had the participation of an multi age coral group, and intends to stimulate and renew the taste for the learning of music and singing, the acquisition of new skills through fun and expressive education, having also a strong communitarian component. The theoretical backgrounds of this study include the expressive education and the collaborative teaching, supported by Piaget, Malcom Knoles and Paulo Freire. In order to build this educational project several scientific articles were studied, amongst which the works from Maria José Chevitarese, Katia Klar Renner and Ester Beyer. The research methodology applied was of the quasi-experimental type, and the sample composed of 20 elements (n=20). Two questionnaires (identification of the group and post test types) were implemented, at the beginning and the end of the project, as well as an interview to an external observer. The collected data was processed using content analysis and then crossed. The interpretation of results allowed to verify that the objectives of this research were achieved, that is, the coral participants claim to have acquired musical, personal, social and cultural skills, in 6 particular the improvement of their vocal performance, a better posture for performance, increased self esteem, reduction of stress and anxiety, renew of musical tastes and appreciation of music and singing as therapy. The conclusions of this study permitted to assess that the “Aprender até Morrer” project may be a pedagogical instrument for choral conductors who wish to center their teaching practice in the development of skills through the choral singing. The accomplishment of this project was supported by the social and school community where it was inserted.
