Estudo cinético, cinemático e funcional do punho protésico em comparação com os punhos saudável e reumatóide

Abstract

Objetivo: A prótese total do punho não é uma prótese anatómica, ou seja, o seu design não se aproxima 􀂿 elmente do design da articulação, mas antes tenta reproduzir a mesma biomecânica. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar como é que a amplitude de movimento e a força de preensão são in􀃀 uenciadas pela substituição prostética do punho, comparativamente ao punho reumatoide e ao punho saudável. Material e Métodos: 20 mulheres e 2 homens (27 punhos prostéticos), com idades compreendidas entre os 38 e os 70 anos participaram neste estudo. Todos os pacientes tinham artrite reumatoide. Alguns tinham a prótese Re-Motion e os outros a Universal II, com um tempo de follow-up médio de 21,7 meses. Resultados: Os pacientes com um follow-up entre 1-6 meses atingiram os 59,4N de força de preensão enquanto que os pacientes com maior tempo de follow-up (>24 meses) atingiram os 98,8N de força de preensão. Conclusões: Muitos foram os fatores que in􀃀 uenciaram positiva ou negativamente os resultados, no entanto, pode dizer-se que, embora quase todos os pacientes sejam capazes de realizar tarefas simples do dia a dia, a diminuição da força de preensão parece não ser desprezável, sendo que foi a característica mais in􀃀 uenciada pela substituição.
