Inversor eléctrico para sistemas de microgeração

Abstract

This dissertation main purpose is the development of the control system of a DC-AC inverter for renewable energy power sources. The platform of the inverter is based on the previous years developped hardware. The new control algorithm will allow the inverter to operate in the grid-connected mode. To implement all the hardware control, a development platform based on the PIC32MX microcontroller, a recent device from the 32-bit Microchip microcontrollers family, was built. This platform is very versatile for the embedded systems development process, as it already includes in a small piggy-back module, all the required hardware for the microcontroller operation, allowing a quick start in this architecture and easy access to all the microcontroller’s resources. As this project base platform is a result of a continuous work from previous years, over the time multiple fixes were made to the printed circuit board. Therefore, to provide a more stable system for the upcoming work, new PCBs were produced. This new boards have improvements regarding the power supply section and electric insulation between the power and logic sections of the system. As a support to the developed inverter, a Simulink model of it was created, allowing the test of control algorithms and better analysis of the frequency behaviour of the system.
