Abstract

This dissertation lies within the field of curricular autonomy and flexibilitiy. Its main goal is to ascertain how the decree law 55/2018, of July 6, is being implemented in a public school cluster. We want to show how this school cluster, through its granted autonomy, faces the challenges of a society that is constantly changing and of an ever-growing, heterogeneous public. To achieve these goals, firstly, we contextualised and characterised the school cluster setting. Then we analysed some of the main documents of this school cluster – the Educational Project, the Welcoming Manual, the Programmes of Complementary Offers of the third Cycle of Basic Education, Communication Activity and Mathematical Activity. After analysing the data, we have gathered some considerations, in order to clarify the way in which curricular autonomy and flexibility deals with pupils’ heterogeneity and the constraints of the reality of the school.
