Abstract

Traceability systems are of utmost importance for companies nowadays. They are not a novelty, but with the 4th industrial revolution and the emergence of the Internet of Things (IoT), they have been integrating new technologies and improving their efficiency, particularly by increasing data storage capacity and enabling real-time and remote data processing. This project aimed to enhance the stock control efficiency in the production and consumption of crankcases at the Renault CACIA factory by implementing a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tag system. In this work, an RFID reader was utilized, and an application was developed with a Python back-end and HTML and JavaScript front-end to manage and monitor real-time data from the RFID reader. In order to access an industrial information system belonging to the factory, macros were developed in Visual Basic, communicating with a Flask server in Python, to make changes in the crankcase stock. The developed solution demonstrates the full potential of implementing an automated system using RFID to control the stock of parts produced in a factory. The developed system proved to be functional and efficient, with a connection made to an internal industrial information system of the factory, PSFP, where it is possible to subtract crankcases from the stock.
