Abstract

The Fundação Altice's Programa Inclui (Inclusive Programme) has a project called Espaços Inclui (Inclusive Spaces), which aims to help people with special needs by making it easier to obtain relevant information and access to assistive technologies that allow better integration in society. Communities of practices may play an important role in the development of an organization and/or company. Considering the Espaços Inclui and the community of technicians, professionals, and researchers in assistive technologies as a community of practice, which accumulates and produces empirical knowledge, the development of a social network platform that helps store and disseminate this knowledge will be an advantage for the whole community. This research is based on the challenge of planning and prototyping a technological platform for the Inclusive Spaces community, based on the technological solution of the Campus by Altice Foundation. The application of the Design-Based Research methodology and iterative methods based on Participatory Design and Contextual Design made it possible to develop a connection with future users of the platform, identifying their needs and what problems they expect the platform to solve. With the application of these methods, the main results achieved were the development of a hi-fi prototype suitable for the real context of the targeted audience and, also, a reflection on the importance that the methods used in this research can have when applied in other contexts where another platform needs to be developed with Campus Technology.
