Teoria fundamentada: abordagens e possibilidades em ciências da educação

Abstract

O presente artigo apresenta a Teoria Fundamentada (TF), que surgiu em 1967 com o livro “The Discovery of Grounded Theory” de Barney G. Glaser e Anselm L. Strauss. A Teoria Fundamentada defende que as proposições teóricas são criadas a partir da análise dos dados e não decorrentes de estudos anteriores. Surgiram diversas abordagens por parte de vários investigadores e correntes filosóficas diferentes, sendo que neste texto apresentamos as três principais e mais citadas: a Teoria Fundamentada Clássica de Glaser, a Teoria Fundamentada de Strauss e a Teoria Fundamentada Construtivista de Charmaz. Considerando as principais diferenças entre as três, são comparados o contexto histórico, a premissa filosófica, o papel do pesquisador, o processo de análise de dados, as perspectivas da TF, os pontos fortes e as limitações. O texto aponta ainda as vantagens e desvantagens da Teoria Fundamentada enquanto metodologia de pesquisa qualitativa e debruça-se em particular na sua versão construtivista por permitir maior aproximação ao campo de investigação das ciências da Educação.
