A estrutura ecológica urbana no modelo da rede estruturante da cidade

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The city has grown on a chaotic form, and presents itself currently sprawled, fragmented, devoid of form, out of order, causing many environmental, social, economic problems, most of which are based in its structural-physical problems. It is necessary to oppose this trend, through a new approach, that assumes the city as a whole and its parts, and based on an organizational model of the city, the structuring network, formed by its structuring elements. The present study seeks to demonstrate that the urban ecological framework, in addition to the functions to which is normally associated with, may consist on a key structuring element of the structuring network, promoting the continuity, multifunctionality and the articulation of the other network elements, as well as the city. Assuming the importance of the urban ecological framework, a methodology is developed to its definition in the structuring network, focusing on the characteristics of the spaces to be integrated in, the typologies of use to adopt and also the types of relationships with the other structuring elements.
