Narrativa transmedia para o ensino de geociências

Abstract

This research intends to use transmedia as an educational approach for one of the curricular goals of the discipline of Natural Sciences of the 7th year of schooling, the study of the applications of rocks in society. For this, a transmedia narrative was created that accompanies the students in the accomplishment of a set of tasks so that, in the end, like the main character of the narrative, they can build an online puzzle about this theme. This work is framed by a research and development methodology, since it involves the design, implementation and evaluation of a set of transmedia activities. After selecting the topic to be addressed, a study was made of the existing educational resources for this level of education, in order to verify if there are educational resources that promote the development of skills. So that the narrative fits the students' reality, a questionnaire was also applied to gather information about their use of digital technologies. After the implementation of the activities, another questionnaire will be applied to the participating students and their teacher, which is expected to contribute to improve the transmedia activities previously elaborated. This article, which presents a study under development, aims to contribute to the development of some proposals of transmedia activities for science education, in articulation with the curricular documents for the basic education in Portugal.
