Personagem feminina - ópera em Portugal do Séc. XVIII: La Vera Costanza

Abstract

This investigation aims to show, not only one of the works of the portuguese composer Jerónimo Francisco de Lima, but also to understand how the social and political conjuncture of the eighteenth century allowed some kind of symbiosys between music and society. We will focus more specifically on the theme of the woman of that time and her place in this society, and also to convey these aspects to the music and to the building of the female characters in the opera La Vera Costanza.
