Abstract

The present MSC thesis deals with the characterisation of mineral resources, namely industrial minerals and rocks which occur in the area located between the . villages of Soure and Condeixa-a-Nova (SW Coimbra), deserving particular emphasis the studies concerned with limestone, gypsum, common clays and gravels, Utilisations of the raw materials referred to are put forward based on both laboratory analytical and technological data. A map with the occurrences of industrial minerals and rocks is annexed to this thesis, hoping that it can be a valuable tool at the time the management plans of the competent municipalities will be revised.
