Abstract

O objectivo principal desta Tese é o estudo da síntese e aplicação de fosfatos metálicos tetravalentes, metaloporfirinas e metaloporfirinas adsorvidas e incorporadas no fosfato de zircónio amorfo, como cataIisadores de reacções de oxidação. Em relação aos fosfatos metálicos tetravalentes, estuda-se a sua aplicação como catalisadores para a activação do peróxido de hidrogénio nas reacções de oxidação do fenol, 2,3,5-triinetilfenol e 2-naftol. A capacidade das metaloporfirinas, adsorvidas e incorporadas em fosfato de zircónio amorfo (catalisadores heterogéneos), como potencial catalisador nas reacções de oxidação, é de igual modo investigada e comparada com os resultados obtidos com os fosfatos metálicos tetravalentes e com as metaloporfirinas (catalisadores homogéneos), respectivamente. Na parte final da Tese estuda-se a halogenação da 6-octaetilporfirina utilizando vários oxidantes como o cloro-. bromo- e fiuorocromato de piridínio e clorocromato de 2,2'- bipiridínio. Os resultados obtidos são comparados com os publicados para os mesmos produtos, obtidos por outros métodos de síntese.

The main objective of this Thesis is the study of the synthesis and applications of tetravalent metal phosphates, metalloporphyrins and metalloporphyrins adsorbed and incorporated to the amorphous zirconium phosphate, as catalysts in oxidation reactions. In relation to the tetravalent metal phosphates, we study their application as catalysts for the activation of hydrogen peroxide in the oxidation reactions of phenol, 2,3,5-trimethylphenol and 2-naphthol. The potential of metalloporphyrins, adsorbed and incorporated in amorphous zirconium phosphate (heterogeneous catalysts), is investigated as catalysts in the oxidation reactiois and compared with the tetravalent metal phosphates and the metalloporphyrins (homogeneous catalysts), respectively. The final part of the Thesis deals with the halogenation of the P-octaethylporphyring various oxidants such as the pyridinium chloro-, bromo- and fluorochromate and the 2,7'- bipyridinium chlorochromate. The results obtained are compared with the data published for the same products, using other methods of synthesis.
