Abstract

O presente trabalho é um estudo sobre Barreiras à Inovação em Micro e Pequenas Empresas. Inquiriu-se uma amostra de noventa e quatro indivíduos: gestores, dirigentes e detentores de micro e pequenas empresas. Foram convidados a descrever as suas percepções de barreiras à inovação nas respectivas empresas. Foram ainda convidados a sugerir medidas para a remoção de tais barreiras. As quatro principais barreiras referidas foram: resistência ou falta de abertura à mudança e ao risco, (falta de) visão estratégica, cultura organizacional, e custos e escassez de recursos financeiros. As propostas de medidas mais citadas foram: estratégia, organização, formação e qualificação das pessoas, e comunicação/informação. Com este estudo pretende-se divulgar as barreiras à inovação e apresentar sugestões de medidas para as remover, e assim contribuir para promover a Inovação e o Conhecimento em Portugal, neste tipo de empresas. A colaboração dos gestores, dirigentes e detentores das empresas contribuiu para o melhor conhecimento das suas percepções e da matéria em estudo, e para a valorização dos resultados obtidos. ABSTRACT: The current essay is a study about Innovation Barriers in Micro and Small Companies. A sample of ninety four people was inquired: managers, directors and owners of micro and small companies. They have been invited do describe their perceptions of barriers to innovation: They have been also invited to suggest measures for de removal of such barriers. The four main referred barriers were: resistance or lack of will to change and aversion to risk, lack of strategic vision, organizational culture, cost and lack of financial resources. The proposal of measures most cited were: strategy, organization, education and worker's qualification, and communication/information. We intend with this essay to divulge the barriers and suggest measures to remove them, promoting Innovation and Knowledge in Portugal, in this particular group of enterprises. The contribution of the companies' managers, directors and owners in this essay improved the knowledge about their perception and the questions being issued, adding value to the obtained results.
