Abstract

Shift work induces a series of changues on nurses psysical well-being and on work and family relations they stabish. The nursing professionals are subject in a daily base to a series of situations that can lead to conflict. The conflict management assumes a role in maintaining a good working atmosphere among collegues, among work groups and among nurses and their leaders. Taking this contexto into account this study attempts to analyse the impact that shiftwork may have on the perception about conflict in the organization. The development of the empirical work has focused on a quantitative approach that proved to be the most appropriate to the research goals. Based on the analysis of data obtained through a questionnaire to nurses it concludes that nurses perceives conflict as normal in their services, revealing a lake of relation between their perception and changes resulting from shift work.
