Magmatismo orogénico varisco no limite meridional da Zona de Ossa-Morena

Abstract

No sector ocidental da Unidade de Odivelas, o Maciço de Beja compreende uma sequência litológica que inclui (de sudoeste para nordeste): rochas plutónicas acumuladas, a zona marginal da intrusão plutónica, complexo filoniano básico-intermédio e complexo vulcânico básico intermédio. As características geoquímicas das sequências vulcânicas estudadas evidenciam a existência de uma margem continental activa no bordo sudoeste da zona de Ossa-Morena desde o Devónico médio/superior. O processo de subducção teria induzido a abertura de uma bacia marginal (pós-arco) representada actualmente pelo ofiolito de Beja-Acebuches.
