Solubilidade e dissolução : actividades experimentais

Abstract

ABSTRACT: In the present study, we have studied the efficiency of the use of a teaching/ learning strategy based on laboratory work, in teaching contents that belong to the themes of Solubility and Dissolution. This strategy was applied to ten students of a 10th grade class of Laboratorian Analysis Technician Course of Escola Tecnológica e Profissional de Sicó. Students, in groups of two or three members, solved a sequence of seven worksheets which included laboratory experiments and tasks of hypothesis formulation, and the explanation of the experimental observations. After solving each worksheet, was made a debate, in group, on the results obtained and on the reading and analysis of the worksheet. Laboratory activities were made by students according to the protocol given by the teacher. These activities were conceived with the aim of promoting the students non satisfaction relatively to their conceptions and introducing new concepts based on the study of an actual phenomenon. On the experimental protocol appeared, besides the traditional description of the experimental procedure, a collecton of questions and tasks aiming an effective involvement of the students with the activity, through the formulation and verification of hypothesis, the interpretation of results and the students’ ideas confrontation with the experimental results. From the application of this strategy, we verified through the answers given to the worksheet questions and the diagnostic test, a conceptual development of most students, relatively to the aspects of the approached contents. Finally, will be presented the teaching implications of the study that point out, at the teaching level, the students previous ideas knowledge, the value of laboratory work and the accurate use of language.
